Statement of philosophy by the photographer Michael Santa Cruz I have been taking pictures for most of my life because photography is my way of being able to share the beauty I see with others. I am a nature lover and an art enthusiast finding my peace and joy in the great outdoors and in the beautiful creations of others. We are all surrounded by a magnificently beautiful world. Yet in our busy, complex life-styles, much of this beauty becomes forgotten and ignored. I feel it is my job to go to the most wonderful places, at the most inspiring times of the day, to photograph that beauty to share with others. I believe that by receiving the beauty of the earth and each other into our hearts we can all learn more in harmony with ourselves, our fellow humans and the earth. It is my hope that these photographs can bring you some of the great joy and peace I felt when I was taking them.
